First World Problems

So today my sister tweeted and at the end of it she added the hashtag Firstworldproblems. Boy did it ever crack me up. Americans are so spoiled to the littlest things. Let me go ahead and add that I tweeted back one of my first world problems and it went a little something like this. " The butler set a hot pork chop down on the piano today and ruined the finish. #Firstworldproblems I really only starting tweeting since October last year. I have a small group of followers and they are pretty funny. So I think it only appropriate that when I tweet about this new job I have, I will add this new hashtag at the end.!!!!!!

On my first day I went to the Bahamas!!

So I decided that while I was down in the Bahamas I would do like a little journal everyday. This was slightly a problem since I didn't have any paper. I decided to use the "note" feature on my phone. See I don't have an international plan on my phone so I was not able to use it down there. I simply turned it onto Airplane mode and left it like that all week. All the other features were still intact. Starting with day one I had logged this big entry and then some how deleted it ALL. Huge bummer. SO I guess I get to start all over now. This family that I am working for now is pretty well off. He is trying to start a charter business on the side as a hobby. So we simply boarded his jet and headed down to the Bahamas. It was a little scary because I was unsure of the way customs went down. I remember this one time in Mexico, they caused a huge stink with one of the ladies traveling with me. They assumed she was wealthy and tried to accuse her of stealing so she would pay them off. The police even encouraged it. SAD FACE.

We landed down with out a single hitch in the get-a-long. Good deal. Waited around for a bit while we filled out the right paperwork, then off we were to the hotel. This place was soo nice and turns out we were on the All Inclusive plan. Since we had eaten lunch so late I didn't really eat dinner, but I decided to go down for a walk. Met some guy in the elevator giving me the "nice eye" Kinda funny, I find out the next day he is from TULSA. Of all places. His company did some work with an aerospace company I used to work for. So some times it's just a small world.

Day 2
I thought to myself " there are plenty of good looking men walking around unattached." I don't know any single people that vacation alone. I guess it's pretty common though. I need to start doing it more. :) We started the day off swimming in the ocean. After about an hour we decided to go para sailing. That was pretty fun. I had been beofre down in Padre with my BFF. I am not sure why, but this time I took a little more time to notice the equipment and boy was I scared. He tied the chute on with no more then some fancy sailors knot. I was already in the air when I saw it. Finished out the day laying on the beach and swimming at the infinity pool. That would be the one pictured above. A pool that looks like it goes right into the water. Oh and I ordered drinks and drinks, and drinks.....

Day 3
I was really sun burned on my face. No matter how much SPF I used it didn't seem to be enough. The rest of my body was doing pretty good, so I had to start wearing a hat. I didn't want to do anymore damage to my skin. This day we went snorkeling. The boat took us about 2 miles off the shore, and yet it was only 12 feet deep still. I was amazed. Everything looked so beautiful down there. I saw tons of beautiful fish. Lots of Trigger fish. I used to have a salt water tank and those were some of our favs. I saw many blue regal tangs. (Dori from Nemo) The guide started tossing bread into the water all around me. The fish started swarming!!!! It made me so nervious but excited. I had to wear a t-shirt that day so I would not get burned. Finished the day out by the beach again.

The days are starting to run together here. :) Day 4 we went to the National park on the island. Stopped and ate some produce from a lady selling on the side of the road. We went to a little hidden beach that was the dreamiest beach I had ever been to in my LIFE. I will always dream of going back there. After that our driver Sawyer took us to a botanical garden. I took many pictures. I could not help but think of the show lost when Sawyer told me his name. :) I stated to rain on the way back. sawyer drove us by where Bruce Willis ( the actor) was building a home. It was pretty RAD if I do say so myself.

Day 5 was the most perfect day of weather on the island. Too bad I was still wearing a t-shirt. I just didn't want to come home all burnt out. Turns out it worked pretty good for me. I got a good balance of sun bc I brought back a beautiful tan.

So here I am , about to start my new job as a nanny in a big house. I hope there will some big triumphs to share!

Take care,
DD

I quit my job!!!

So I was trodding along at my daily grind and all of the sudden , the perfect job landed right in my lap. My bff from high school called and told me the time was now. I needed to call his mom and talk to her about becoming their Nanny. This is a job that P and I had been mulling over for a year. Every time I would hear about the family and how they needed help, I would say to him, tell your mother to think about me. He would do so and nothing ever seemed to really come about. Till now.... They had this child later on in life. So Parents are ready to settle down and have fun and the little one (Betsy) is ready to move, move, move. I thought I would start a blog. A place to come tell all my adventures and woes. Get advice and maybe give a little too.
